Our People, Our Pride
Our global workforce forges excellence by constantly building our capabilities and deepening our competencies. To this end, HR in partnership with the business, stretches and maximises our organisational capacity.
At the forefront, PSA competes strongly in the war for talent through extensive employer branding, actively engaging institutes of higher learning, and also establishing our flagship Global Management Associate Programme in Singapore, Belgium, Türkiye, Argentina and Poland.
Our holistic talent development ensures that our leaders of today and tomorrow have deep functional expertise, broad business knowledge and a global mindset. Integrated talent management processes enabled by global / regional / local collaboration, facilitate career planning, cross-cultural assignments and job rotations across the company. Employees participate in long / mid-term internal resourcing opportunities as well as Short-Term International Development Experience (STRIDE) projects. These hone the individual’s job competencies, crossfunctional capabilities and cross-cultural effectiveness, building a strong leadership bench that expands PSA’s capacity.
Furthermore, PSA University, together with functional experts and the various PSA regions, forges a structured approach towards upskilling the workforce in the areas of vocational, technical and soft skills and in the development of core competencies. This is crucial for desired operational and business outcomes and the future-readiness of the people.
Training goes hand-in-hand with data-backed workforce analysis and planning, equipping our employees to leverage new technologies in new ways of working. One major thrust is port automation which necessitates job redesign and reaps significant labour productivity improvements. Likewise, our Global Organisation Development Movement forms workstreams that champion focus areas for successful transformation, such as “Productivity through Tech and AI”.
In times of such organisational transformation, we emphasise the importance of engaging our labour unions, sparing no effort in strengthening our mutual communication and trust.
Indeed, when our global workforce aligns with a common purpose and acts with perseverance through all challenges, we can be sure of achieving our vision with the greatest pride. That is why nurturing our foundational values of trust, support, teamwork, positivity, resilience, integrity, ownership of our responsibilities, and stewardship in service to our stakeholders, is absolutely essential. These values, as expressed through our FISH language and PSA’s Code of Business Ethics and Conduct, are the bedrock of our culture and fuel of our performance.

Our Global Employee Opinion Poll, which has garnered consistently high employee participation and satisfaction ratings worldwide for more than 20 years, is testament to our team spirit as One PSA.
